This page is dedicated to some Great ones that have past, but not left our hearts. We don't want these Great Ones to be forgotten.

Mr Cool Expressive

2001 Overo Gelding

Sadly, we lost Cool January 4, 2010. He was found 'asleep' after his morning breakfast. He had just turned nine years old. Cool was my FIRST world champion ever! He won the title of World Champion with me as a 2, 3, 4 and 5 year old in the Amateur geldings at the APHA World Show. He won an Open World Title with APHA and multiple Youth APHA and PtHA World Championships. Cool was the greatest horse we ever loved and an APHA legend. There will be a memorial award given at the APHA World Shows in the Amateur Aged Gelding class from here on out to honor Cool and his greatness. Breyer is going to produce a model horse in his image. He is the NUMBER TWO halter point earning gelding of all time in APHA, second only to his stall mate RPL Negotiator. Cool stood 17 hands and was a gentle giant with an even bigger heart. He was Austin's first World Champion when Austin was only seven. Many of us remember that little boy and that giant of a horse that took careful care never to harm him. This great gelding started it all for my family and we owe so much to him. He will be greatly missed... our hearts and barn will never be the same without him.

Sadly, this great gelding was euthanized September 2009 due to Wobbler syndrome. We are very saddened by his loss and we had hopes for "Koby" to be our replacement for "Shaq" in the showring.

Sadly, we lost this amazing gelding January 2009.
We lost our Shaq. We have owned him since he was a baby and we have watched him grow and fell in love with him everyday. My heart is broken and there is a hole in my life. You know how there are some horses in your life that you like and they do their job well, and then there are some horses that you would love if they never won a damn thing for you... well this is Shaq, he was the one I loved.

Two weeks ago he kicked his hind legs through the metal barn wall and severed both to the bone, he was always a kicker in the stall, but all the greatest ones have their quirks I've heard. I thought we would be going to pick him up this week, and then the dreaded call came that they were in their second surgery and his coffin bone in one leg had deteriorated and had infection. The damage was irreversible and he would have to be put to sleep. So instead of going to pick up my lovely on Wednesday, the kids, Ray, Dad, and I had to go bid our final farewell to the one I loved. As I held his muzzle, I told him things would never be the same in my world without him. I hope he knew how loved he was. I have part of his tail and forelock that I will make something special out of and will sponsor a yearling world champion award for the winning amateur in his honor.

In his short two year career he won eight world titles in APHA and PtHA. Austin and I made his show debut in Arizona in January this year as we were going on the road with him as our number one show horse this year. Two days after his debut, he was injured. He had never been shown besides the world shows as a yearling and two year old. Three titles as a yearling and Five as a two year old, more than most horses see in a lifetime.

I feel honored to have had the pleasure to love this great horse for the short time he was here. The only peace I have is thinking somewhere in his great spirit he is running in a lush green pasture where the greatest survive.
